Bessō
During the retreat participants connect with the seasonal, edible landscape of Takigahara by carving bamboo, harvesting sea salt, foraging edible plants, fermenting, and embracing the practice of seasonal cooking.
The team came to us to create a simple brand framework along with some brand materials: a digital guide to be sent to participants prior to the retreat as well as a printed booklet given to each participant upon arrival. We opted for a color palette inspired by the lush forest and farmland that surrounds Takigahara paired with Absans, an Art Nouveau inspired typeface that has a quaint yet elegant flair. We also brought in hand-drawn pastel sketches to add texture and a human quality.
